This year, I'm planning on cooking a lot more often, and I started this weekend. Yesterday I cooked a ham. My first ham! I made a glaze with brown sugar, hibiscus honey, and champagne mustard. It was delicious! I froze half of the ham for later, because we'll get hammed out. Today, I made a pineapple and ham pizza. I used a packaged crust, but added some parmesean, rosemary and basil and garlic to it. I always cook my crust for about 10 minutes first, because I can't stand soggy crusts. Then I added some sauce (LaRosa's from Cincinnati) a little bit of cheese and big chunks of our delicious ham and some pineapple. Cooked it another 20 minutes, topped it with crushed red pepper, and YUM!
We have so many cookbooks and recipes (cut out from magazines, given to us on scraps of paper from friends and family, etc.). So this year, we're going to attempt to go through a lot of those and when we find a recipe we like, we'll write it down as a keeper. Hopefully, we'll make it through a few cookbooks and all the loose papers over the course of the year, helping to clear out some of the clutter!
