Week 3: New

Today I got to do a newborn shoot for my friend Marisa. Her little boy was born just a week ago, so he fits the theme of the week, which is "new".

Week 2: Nature

I let my husband pick my inspiration word of the week, and he picked nature/natural. Since Mother Nature's been a little fickle around here, our daffodils are already blooming. Poor things think it's spring!

Week 1 of 52

This year, I'm planning on cooking a lot more often, and I started this weekend. Yesterday I cooked a ham. My first ham! I made a glaze with brown sugar, hibiscus honey, and champagne mustard. It was delicious! I froze half of the ham for later, because we'll get hammed out. Today, I made a pineapple and ham pizza. I used a packaged crust, but added some parmesean, rosemary and basil and garlic to it. I always cook my crust for about 10 minutes first, because I can't stand soggy crusts. Then I added some sauce (LaRosa's from Cincinnati) a little bit of cheese and big chunks of our delicious ham and some pineapple. Cooked it another 20 minutes, topped it with crushed red pepper, and YUM!
We have so many cookbooks and recipes (cut out from magazines, given to us on scraps of paper from friends and family, etc.). So this year, we're going to attempt to go through a lot of those and when we find a recipe we like, we'll write it down as a keeper. Hopefully, we'll make it through a few cookbooks and all the loose papers over the course of the year, helping to clear out some of the clutter!

Happy New Year!

This year, I'm participating in a 52-week challenge. THIS will be the year I'll stick to it. I've got an amazing group of inspiring and supportive photographers helping to keep me motivated! Each Sunday, I'll post my challenge pictures, for a total of 52 for the year.

I think this is the card...

We finally got her to smile AND look at the camera all at the same time. Now, if my focus had been sharper, it would have been great. Regardless, I really like it. Especially with Chico watching, from behind the tree, the circus it took to keep her entertained.

Happy Holidays!

The holidays are in full swing at our house. Little miss has a small tree in her room with ornaments made by my mom. The lights are hung outside, and I started my holiday baking a couple of days ago. Happy holidays to you and yours!
